Airconditioning Technician

Job Purpose

To carry out Repairs and Maintenance activities within an area or specific discipline to the required Standards and in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12.
• Trade test certificate (Red Seal) is essential.

Minimum Requirements

• Air-conditioning Technician experience in the Casino / Hotel industry will be an added advantage, or 10 years similar experience in a large plant required.
• Must have 5 years’ experience in industrial chillers.
• Must have electrical fault finding background and good problem solving skills.
• Must have the ability to explain technical matters in clear terms, read technical drawings, cabling plans and circuit diagram.
• Knowledge of health and safety issues required.
• Shift work is an operational requirement.

Main Resposibilites

• To carry out planned preventative maintenance.
• To attend to all breakdowns as per the Supervisor’s instructions.
• To carry out new airconditioning installation work.
• To inspect and test systems ensuring that they are up to operation standards.
• To carry out regular maintenance checks.
